Come along on a private evening tour of west Chengdu: dinner at a one-Michelin-starred Sichuan restaurant, followed by a visit to a building by a Pritzker Prize-winning architect.
Itinerary

We'll meet at the agreed meeting point at the scheduled time, at Furonghuang. This one-Michelin-starred restaurant serves old-style Sichuan food, the traditional cooking of the region. Your guide will order for the table and explain each dish.

After dinner, we'll walk to West Village. This concrete courtyard complex is the work of Liu Jiakun, the Chengdu architect who won the Pritzker Prize in 2025. A running and cycling ramp climbs around the perimeter, and inside there are basketball courts, cafés and studios.

Nobody here treats it as a monument. In the evening it fills up with people playing ball, walking dogs and running laps on the roof. It's a chance to see the work of a Pritzker winner in the city where he lives and builds, being used by the people he built it for.

Then, after approximately 3.5 hours, our evening tour will come to an end.
